AMISOM Rewards The Service Of Sierra Leonean Individual Police Officers Deployed To Somalia As They Rotate Out And Head Home

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has commended the peace efforts of Individual Police Officers (IPOs) from Sierra Leone. The IPOs have exhibited an outstanding performance, diligence and integrity in mentoring and advising their Somali counterparts during their tenure in Mogadishu. The 10 Sierra Leonean officers were awarded medals in a colorful ceremony on Saturday upon completion of their year-long deployment.

AMISOM Police Commandant congratulated their efforts especially seeing that the contingent lost the only female officer which didn’t deter the professionalism and commitment of the remaining officers to the mission.

The IPOS have been fundamental to AMISOM’s efforts within the Somali Police Force as they have been able to impart the core principles of the officers deployed to aid in the restoration of the police force in Somalia.
