Al-Shabaab & Galmudug Forces Clash in Amara, Mudug Region

Wednesday, 22/2/2017, Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that Al-Shabaab and Galmudug forces were involved in a deadly gun fight in attempt to retake Amara in southern Mudug region.

OSINT reports indicate Al-Shabaab fighters in battle wagons raided Amara, a strategic locality that has been a focal point of their clashes, but in responsible Galmudug forces fought back. Casualties from both sides reported.

Overpowered, Al-Shabaab retreated into the bushes. Galmudug forces in full control of the region and normalcy reported.
