Airstrikes in Tripolli Libya, Renegade General Khalifa Haftar Claims Responsibility

A renegade Libyan general ordered airstrikes on Tripoli, the conflict ridden capital of Libya, a north African failed state, Strategic Intelligence resources in the Maghreb confirm.

Warplanes took off from the Wittiya air base west of Tripoli and struck targets in the capital.

Renegade General Khalifa Haftar’s air force carried out air-strikes on Islamist-leaning militia in Tripoli.

Libya is witnessing the worst violence since the Western backed toppling of leader Muamar Gaddaffi in 2011.

The once stable and economically powerful North African nation was ruined by war and Western airstrkes that have left the country ragged and in ruin.

The Monday morning airstrikes shocked Libyans with many in government claiming the airstrikes were conducted by a neighboring country.

The General Khalifa Haftar’s air force led the strikes on Islamists who have wreaked havoc in the capital.
