Raila Odinga Popularity Sliding Fast
April 15 | Posted by David Goldman | Intelligence NewsPrime Minister is suffering major setbacks politically. The religiously followed Prime ministers rating in recent opinion polls is losing ground to his deputy.
Odinga who has been taking heavy political battering has lost about 20% of his popularity in the past 4 months.
A poll conducted by Synovate, a local opinion polls firm puts the prime minister at 38% down from 43%.
Uhuru Kenyatta is rapidly gaining popularity with his ratings growing by 4% in the past 2 months.
Uhuru ranks second favorite with 18% up from 14% and would see his ranking grow tremendously if he gets the support of his political allies including Kalonzo and William Ruto.
Odinga’s popularity is waning for a number of reasons including his credibility as an elderly and wise leader.
Odinga engaged younger politicians in a tirade of insults and ridicule something that intelligence advisors say cut off his clout.
The Prime Minister enjoy immense solid in his Nyanza home turf and the South Rift and has dramatically lost ground in the Rift Valley.
The Prime Minister may also be losing ground as his party ODM continues to take a dictatorial stance.
The party is seen as a single candidate democracy where any independent minds are denied chance to express opinions.
Odinga’s ODM party has continued to behave badly, wrangling and making irresponsible statements further creating rifts among its members.
The fallout of the party with Rift Valley MPs and outspoken Aden Douale, and Najib Balala has further weakened its clout and that of its headman Odinga.

I agree that RAO’s rating have plummeted.
However, public opinion is normally shaped by information that is available.
ODM has been in the news for all bad news the Ruto fallout being the biggest. We know that since the past elections, PNU has been spending sleepless nights to break ODM strong hold of parliament. They suceeded when Kibaki gave Raila the Mau Forest job. Raila miscalculated. However, we all know that there is even more catastrophic trouble brewing in PNU. Uhuru, Kalonzo were both promised by EMK the presidency in 2012. Saitoti feels cheated and will probably move to Raila side to punish PNU. PNU has luckily been able to hide their imminent break from media coverage.
However, it is now official that Ruto is out of ODM with his Kalenjin vote. With ODM just needing to put its house in order i.e. Deluolize itself by making Ababu Sec Gen, reshuffling PM’S Office and silencing Miguna Miguna, the hot news about ODM woes will now become fireless news and PNU woes will now be seen all over. Opinion is therefore bound to change.
The centre that holds the Uhuru side is Railaphobia. Raila simply needs to stay back, shut his mouth for a couple of months and the centre of KKK will collapse.
