Germany Engages Kenya in Military Capacity Development

Germany will early February sign a memorandum of understanding with Kenya to set off a military cooperation that will see Germany help Kenya Defense Forces develop its capacity.

German soldiers will engage the Kenya Defense Forces in setting up basic infrastructure in the battle field,and in the country even when there no war.

The KDF will be empowered to set up basic infrastructure such as, camps, field hospitals, and training of soldiers in technical professions.

On Technical professions, the Germans will train KDF in signaling, telecommunications and maintenance of military equipment such as, radio equipment, and military cars.

The objective of this training program is to increase the KDF capacity in ensuring peace and stability can be achieved and sustained across the region besides creating an environment that will make democracy thrive.
