Masjid Mussa Mosque has a new sheikh, Abu Qatada after an appointment vetted by Al-Qaeda.

Strategic Intelligence Service confirms that Abu Qatada was appointed by Al-Qaeda leaders to fill in the vacuum left by Aboud Rogo.

Intelligence on Abu Qatada exhibits him as a businessman with vast connections in Mombasa and Nairobi.

Abu Qatada is a Luyha convert who subscribes to Wahabi clerical teachings hence supports extremist Islamic values that Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab subscribe to.

The sheikh runs a number of safaricom mpesa outlets in Mombasa and possibly Nairobi which could be used as proxies for remittances.

In Kenya he is the leader of Wahabi sect and is tasked in the coordination of Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab activities in Mombasa.
