Al-Shabaab Attempts on KDF in Fahfahdhun Compromised

A 1000 Strong contingent of Al-Shabaab fighters attempted to overrun a Kenya army base in Fahfahdhun, 15hrs ago, military intelligence confirms but ended losing a significant number of fighters.

Intelligence from the small village town of Fahfahdhun confirms a strategic attack on KDF military base in Fahfahdhun late Wednesday by Al-Shabaab militants but the mission was compromised after intelligence on their plan helped an effective and timely counter attack.

Fahfahdhun is of strategic value to KDF and also the militants, a reason why the militants tried to take it based on their analysis that the KDF base could be sleepy and dormant due to little action.

However, Al-Shabaab claimed to have killed 70 Kenyan soldiers based in Fahfahdhun military base (KDF- Temporary base for forward ops).

This report has been dismissed by military officials in the theater where logic confirms Al-Shabaab lacks such capacity in its current state besides the actual scenario at Fahfahdhun. It is mere propaganda and they can’t manage to penetrate KDF defenses.

KDF launched an offensive on the militants, killing a number of them. The Defensive operation by KDF was a combined artillery, aerial, and infantry sniper and machine gunfire.

Intelligence from the village of Fahfahdhun shows that KDF defensive operation on the militants whereby KDF bombed the Al-Shabaab militants and their assets.

Villagers confirms the evening sky at Fahfahdhun in Gedo region was lit by waves of bombs from KDF artillery units strategically positioned while special forces drawn from KDF elite stormed the village ending the militants attack.
