Logistic experts, military advisers, planners, commanders, and leaders of the brigades in Kismayu have been compromised through precision attacks by Kenya airforce and navy.

This is part of the initial stages of the Kismayu operation which aims at destroying all defensive positions of the militants in the sea port city before KDF AMISOM, TFG AND Ras Kamboni troops storm the city.

Destroying their positions, removing their leaders from picture, and demoralizing the militants is of strategic value to the operation to rid Kismayu of these militants, KDF defense officials expound.

Some leaders of the militants have already left the city fearing to be killed, the fighters are likely to take off too, and there will be little or almost no resistance.
