NASA Announcement about microbe that feed on arsenic has been made. In what is deemed a shocking discovery after many decades, NASA found new arsenic based life form in California.

Researchers have discovered microorganisms that thrive in arsenic.

The NASA funded research found out the first known microbe on earth to survive and reproduce using the toxic arsenic.

The research was conducted in the harsh environment of Mono Lake in California.

According to NASA, these microorganisms substitute arsenic for phosphorous in its cell composition.

Arsenic sits right below phosphorus in the periodic table and it is highly toxic.

The NASA funded study has shed light on how other life forms could be alive by substituting the basic cell formation blocks.

Science has it that the main building blocks are carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorous, and sulfur.  Phosphorus is core in block formation/cellular construction.

Phosphorus is also very essential in the chemical backbone of organism DNA and RNA.

DNA and RNA are structures that carry genetic instructions of life.

NASA Announcement about arsenic based life forms in the mono Lake California is a great step towards discovering extraterrestrial life forms and their chemical formations.
