John Njoroge Michuki Dies of Heart Attack at 80 Years of Age

Michuki death has left the presidency short of a very influential, capable, and extremely hardworking confidant.
The cause of Michuki’s death was a heart attack caused by multiple organ failure.
The minister for environment died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi after he was flown in from United Kingdom for medication.
Michuki left the country in late December 2011 to seek medical help in the United Kingdom. His old age though could not hold treatment hence the sudden death.
Michuki will be remembered as the only minister in the Kibaki presidency and the history of Kenya to have introduced the most effective transport sector policies that safeguarded lives of public service vehicle users besides bringing law and order in the country when he served as internal security minister.
Michuki was the Kangema MP and a feared administrator since the colonial era when he served as district commissioner.
He was ruthless and is credited with the ruthless crackdown on Mungiki sect besides the shoot to kill order that saw crime in the crime go to an all time low.
Michuki was born in December, 1932 at Muguru village, Iyego Location, Kangema Division in Murang’a County.
