Police in Turkey has arrested 50 FETO terror suspects among them former soldiers from 11 provinces as part of a central Eskisehir city-based operation. The arrested came after arrest warrants were issued by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in Eskisehir for 66 members of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), including fighter pilots.
Some suspects were said to be FETO imams — senior FETO terrorists responsible for coordinating cells in the armed forces. FETO has been linked with a series of long-running campaigns to overthrow the current Turkish government by infiltrating institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the July 15, 2016, defeated coup attempt in Turkey, which martyred 250 and left nearly 2,200 injured.
