Three Somali civilians lost their lives in a shooting encounter by Al Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab and police in country’s capital Mogadishu.

According to police initial report, two civilians were caught up by indiscriminate shooting by Al-Shabaab gun fire in central Mogadishu. Police responded and killed one Al-Shabaab militant.

The third civilian was killed after the car the assailants were riding detonated. Police managed to thwarted another major attack in Mogadishu by engaging the militants decisively with gunfire.

The Shebab attack in central Somalia come barely hours after NISA foiled acar bomb attack in Daynile district.

Somalia has been faced by challenge of militancy since 20016. Al Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab are waging attacks against the federal government of Somalia with an intention of overthrowing the western backed government and impose on strict version of Islamist Sharia law.
