3 Al Shabaab Fighters Killed, 4 Injured In Basra, Middle Shabelle As Onslaught Against Militants Intensifies

The Somali National Army has increased and intensified the assaults against the al Qaeda affiliated al Shabaab along the middle and lower Shabelle regions of the country.

SNA General Commander Abdullahi Ali Anood described the situation his troops are engaged in where he confirmed an incident in which they killed three insurgents while injuring another 4. The battle took place in the outskirts of Basra location in Middle Shabelle and took limited hours of confrontation.

The war against the militants in the regions is part of an elaborate plan to attack and fight the terrorists on all fronts in line with President Farmaajo’s commitment in October.
