14 Al-Shabaab Terror Operatives Killed, 17 Others Injured in Southern Somalia

At least 14 Al-Shabaab terror operatives were killed and 17 other injured in a fierce fight with Somali National Army supported by African Union forces in Southern Somalia.

According to the military sources, allied SNA and AMISOM forces laid siege on Al-Shabaab terrorists’ base located about 20 kilometers from Garbaharey town on Monday evening.

Somali Government Army Commander Mohamed Abdow Ali confirmed of the successful raid but also confirmed that they lost three soldiers in the fight.

“We attacked Al-Shabaab militants base about 20 km from Garbaharey town today. Then fighting erupted bringing casualties on both sides, we killed 14 terrorist militants and injured 17 others during the deadly battle,” Ali said.

SNA commander Ali also confirmed that SNA and AMISOM gained control of the battle zone at the moment, adding they would continue such operations against the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab after several hours of fighting.
