14 Al-Shabaab Operatives Killed after Attempt to Attack KDF Camp

KDF-army soldiers killed 14 Al-Shabaab operatives after a botched attack on their camp.

The terror operatives were killed in Abdidore, about 27 kilometers from Kismayo, Somalia.

Military Intelligence (MI) reports referenced by open sources indicate that the militant attempted to breach KDF camp located in the area but were successfully repulsed by the Kenyan army troops.

Among those killed in the botched attack was a mid-level Al-Shabaab commander, said to have been coordinating the raid on the security forces’ camps in the area.

MI sources, further reveal that militants had used two vehicles laden with explosives to try and gain entry into the camp but were neutralized by the Kenyan forces.

KDF fired heavy artillery on them forcing them to retreat.

The latest confrontation between KDF and al-Shabaab comes just hours after the terror group attempted second attack on Kulbiyow KDF Forward Operating Base.
